BIRDS ON A WIRE

When I was a very young girl my grandmother did a watercolor of a group of birds on a wire. I always loved that painting. This is my rendition of her idea.

As I was painting the little blue bird (6th from the left) it was snowing very hard. Something it doesn't often do in central Texas. A flock of bluebirds came to feed on a berry bush outside my studio window. It was an incredibly stunning moment. (See BELLY FULL OF BERRIES above)

  1. There is joy unspeakable in this painting. Such variety. The colors are captivating. The whimsey. If God does, indeed, know even about each sparrow - how He must smile when he looks at this painting. Joy. Joy. Joy.
